Buy Licence

Buy a K-Type font and you’re buying a licence to use it. But which licence do you need?

Our standard Commercial Licence costs just £10 (GBP) and covers normal usage – using the font in print, on the web and on film – and you can install the font on up to five machines.

For more than that – perhaps you need to use the font on lots of machines, or you have to incorporate the font within another product – you’ll need an Enterprise Licence which costs £180 (GBP).

Many K-Type fonts are provided as ‘Freebies’ without charge for personal use. They can be downloaded for no payment, but Freebies which are used for commercial purposes need to be licensed at the same rate as our Pay Fonts, so you’ll need to buy a Commercial Licence or an Enterprise Licence depending on how you use it. Simply add the font licence to your Shopping Cart, then make your payment through PayPal

Please read the Licence Agreement below:

Licence Agreement

FREEBIES (Unlicensed)

K-Type Freebies are free for personal use and do not require a licence.
However, Freebies used for Commercial and Entrepreneurial purposes need to be licensed at the same rates as Pay Fonts. Commercial and Enterprise Licences for Freebies can be purchased from this website.

COMMERCIAL LICENCE (Normal Licence)

Purchasing a K-Type font grants you non-exclusive rights to use the font in commercial design for the web, film/video and print, and to embed the font securely in your documents. You cannot legally give the font to others or install it on their machines (with the exception of co-workers and your service bureau).
The font may be stored on up to five workstations and output devices, multiple licences can be purchased where more ’seats’ are required.
To place any K-Type font within other media will require a more comprehensive Enterprise Licence.

ENTERPRISE LICENCE (Extended Licence)

For Entrepreneurial use on an unlimited number of workstations and output devices, and where a font file is incorporated into a software product, each K-Type font will require an Enterprise Licence.
An Enterprise Licence is indefinite, but not exclusive.

CUSTOM FONTS

Commissioning a K-Type Custom Font grants you ownership upon payment – sole rights to use the font autonomously, exclusively and indefinitely. Custom Fonts are available from keith@k-type.com

Fonts are supplied “as is”. Every effort is made to ensure that the files will behave properly, and whilst mistakes and omissions are corrected cheerfully and quickly, K-Type will not be liable for losses incurred by ’software failure’.
