Rock-steady and friendly, yet animated and exciting, Adventuring evolved from the hand drawn, uppercase title lettering used for the 1950s and 1960s dust jackets of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five books.
Frank Bellamy
An all capitals family based on the hand lettering of English artist, Frank Bellamy, most famous for his comic art for Eagle and TV21, and his Dr Who illustrations for Radio Times. The uppercase characters are the wider and heavier of the scans, and the lowercase are narrower and lighter letters. The Regular, Bold, Italic and Bold Italic are all supplied.
Roy Lichtenstein
Small Capitals fonts in Regular and Bold weights inspired by the painted lettering within the speech bubbles, thought balloons and narrative boxes of Roy Lichtenstein’s Pop Art canvases.
Pentangle
Pentangle is a complete font freely based on the eight characters used for the title of the 1967 folk/jazz/rock album.
Ray Johnson
The Ray Johnson font was inspired by the Father of Mail Art (or the Grandfather, depending on who you read). It is based on the block lettering style used by Ray to add the names of his correspondents to their bunny head portraits (the film ‘How to Draw a Bunny’ is a superb introduction). The font includes blank bunny heads and other Ray Johnson graphics as scalable vector images, and separate bitmap images are also provided as jpegs and gifs.
Victor Moscoso
The Victor Moscoso font is based on the 1960s psychedelic poster lettering of the artist Victor Moscoso. The letterforms are derived from some of his most celebrated Neon Rose posters of the late sixties, in particular the archetypical Moby Grape ‘Neptune’s Notion’ of 1967.
